Tulemar Beach is honored to have been awarded the Bandera Azul Ecológica (Ecological Blue Flag). The blue flag is an award granted by representatives from the Costa Rican Tourism Board, Ministry of Health, National Water Company, Ministry of Environment and Energy, and the Chamber of Tourism.

A blue flag this year was granted to 35 beaches in the entire country distinguishing our high standards based on the following criteria: quality (cleanliness) of ocean water, quality of drinking water offered at the beach, quality of the coast with respect to garbage, industrial drainage, and treated residual water, local environmental education, and level of beach security and administration.
